Hey I'm Jonathan
Hey I'm Jonathan.
Not sure if I classify as a student, but I did buy one of Mr Robots Ebooks awhile ago.
I currently do 3-4 hours a day, for about 3 weeks a month, mainly technique oriented, and review progress at the end of the month. I'm pretty strict and hardcore about it and have noticed quite a fair amount of improvement so far.
When I do my routine, I stick at the speed or whatever I'm doing for the full 3 weeks, and don't break with that at all. I think of it like wearing a plaster-cast, and at the end of the month I breathe out and see where I'm at. I find this works best for me and have gotten the most progress from it. I also find that progress is more "visible" this way.
Currently I'm working on tightening up my right hand in general as I feel it was/is slightly behind my left in terms of overall control.
Good idea about setting up the forum and glad to be here!

Re: Hey I'm Jonathan
Thanks! and Welcome to the forum. You totally classify as a student since you are doing the material in book form.
I use the same sort of learning in phases where I break out of the cast now and then to check and then put my head back down and program it all in.
